The DIY House by Asylum – Oct 2012

The installation is an exploration into the potential of an unexpected material realized through makeshift architecture. The ‘DIY House’ is a structure, which intends to utilize the material qualities of tape by cladding a framework to make a shelter. By utilizing an accessible and versatile material, the audience can appreciate the properties of a common and industrial household product such as the combined elements of the strength of the tape and the form of the metal, allowing the house to retain its balance and to stand. Hublot Unveils World’s First Pop-Up Store designed by Asylum – Sept 2012

‘BIG BANG’, the world’s first Hublot pop-up store has been unveiled at the main atrium of Paragon Shopping Mall in the heart of Orchard Road. Collaborating with Mr. Chris Lee of Asylum, the pop-up store is a colossal structure that fuses art and functionality, inspiring a design that pulsates with the energy of Hublot. Asylum designs signage system for Rihan Heights, Abu Dhabi – Mar 2012
—

Tasked to create a signage system to complement the architecture of the luxury residential development, inspiration was drawn from the layered, multi-faceted landscape. Exploring the sculptural possibilities of origami figures, brightly coloured and faceted 3D forms were introduced. Creating outdoor larger than life origami sculptures and aluminum sheets wrapped within the interior, the signage system stands at home with the bold structural forms of the residential compound.

Diageo has crowned Asylum and LOVE global winners for their outstanding work for Johnnie Walker House Shanghai, as part of the annual Marketing Brilliance Awards. Celebrating agencies that have delivered excellence, in terms of brilliant thinking, execution and client service, Diageo highlighted the Johnnie Walker House Shanghai with the Special Marketing Leadership Award. The winners represented work for Diageo brands such as Johnnie Walker, Guinness and Captain Morgan from around the world.
