Useless Exhibition – 28 November 2007

Utterubbish presents the UseLess Exhibition, a design showcase with a multi-disciplinary collection of works by international and local designers. You can expect to find product, furniture, fashion, graphic and environmental design as well as architecture works. The over-arching themes include sustainable design and edo-design, design activism, promotion of craft and how design can create value for self, society and the world for a sustainable future. Some international designers you can look forward to include Jonathan Harris, KesselsKramer and Maison Martin Margiela, whilst local designers include Asylum, Kinetic, Ministry of Design and Woods & Woods, plus many, many more! 28 November 2007 till 16 December 2007, 4th Floor City Hall Building



Dual City Sessions: Null – 28 November 2007

15 Singaporean artists/designers were invited alongside 15 Japanese artists/designers to take part in this design exhibition, which was launched at DesignTide in Tokyo earlier this year. It’s now made its way to the Singapore Design Festival so you should totally go check it out and show support for our tow kay, Chris Lee! This exhibition aims to showcase efforts between Singapore and Japan, bringing together emerging and innovative practitioners in the fields of art, fashion, music and design. 28 November till 8 December 2007, The Hall, 11 Mt Sophia Road









Asylum+Kinetic – Nike Windrunner Be@Rbricks – 12 October 2007

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nike 26° Windrunner, Asylum was invited to design and cutomise 40 Nike be@rbricks, including 3 collaboration be@rbricks with the interactive design gurus over at Kinetic. Each be@rbrick was carefully designed and painstakingly hand-painted, and they will be on display at various Nike retail stores, so keep your peepers open. Do also keep an ear out for more news on our Asylum+Kinetic-Nike Windrunner Be@rbricks which will make an appearance in Asylum at the end of the year.



A Sound Installation By Zulkifle Mahmod – 7 September 2007

A sound installation by Zulkifle Mahmod, 13.09.07 – 13.10.07, Party & Performance: 19.09.07, 8pm The Asylum, 22 Ann Siang Road Singapore 069702 for the month of September, the Substation and Asylum Sounds will present “In The Asylum”, a sound installation by Zulkifle Mahmod. Exhibited as part of the Substation’s Septembertfest 2007, with support from Arts Fund and Hong Leong Foundation, “In The Asylum” is Zul’s first art project since his exhibition at The 52nd Venice Biennale 2007.
