The Mondrian group of hotels is synonymous with being destination hotels that feature bold, vibrant and groundbreaking interior designs. We were honoured to have been able to work on the interior design of the first Mondrian Hotel in Itaewon Seoul was completed end of 2019.

The Hotel’s lobby is enlivened with an all-day lobby bar, large installations by local artists, as well a whimsical fairy-tale forest. The Rumpus Room, a lounge area on Level 2 provides a quieter spot for a serious meeting or to unwind at the end of a work day. The rooftop Privilege Bar is designed to provide a classic and refined environment and to add an unexpected element, the outdoor bar features a repurposed compressor unit from the old building as a centerpiece.

The hotel also offers statement-making summertime party spaces. Lounge by the glass-front pool or cozy up with friends outdoors or indoors at the Privilege Rooftop Bar.

Compared to the much bolder designs in the common areas, the guestrooms present a calmer environment with a comfortable residential feel. To maintain the Mondrian DNA, we’ve kept the overall design tone of the rooms modern with touches of vibrancy. For example, the use of bold modern art by local artists as the backdrop in open wardrobes. The Cabana Suites on the other hand are even more vibrant, fun, and progressive. The perfect summer party suite to be shared with friends.
